Established in 1906
Estabilished in 1906 Cambridge University Judo Club is the oldest judo club outside of Japan. We welcome adults from across Cambridge and the world, students and non-students.
We are a vibrant club with a diverse membership of beginners, social judoka and talented amateurs from Cambridge University and the surrounding area. We train hard, but with an ethos of fun, respect and personal development, so we cater for everyone from complete beginners to international-standard black belts.
We are also a social club, and regularly organise social events; from a post-training pint and/or meal and formal dinners, to trips away in England and abroad. The club has recently visited Germany, Finland, Poland, Belgium and Japan.
The Club is affiliated to the British Judo Association (BJA), which is the largest Governing body in the UK and a member of the
International Judo Federation (IJF).
As a mixed University-City club, we train all year long. The minimum age is 16.
Sessions usually take place in Studio 2 at the University Sports Centre However, during the University exam period (late May – early June) we may be unable to use the Sports Centre and may train elsewhere, with a
